Resize an image online
Type a width, a height or both, and the image is resized to fit the box. The sizes people ask for most are one click away, and the aspect ratio stays locked unless you unlock it, so nothing comes out stretched. Up to 10 images at a time, 20 MB each.
Common questions
- How do I resize an image?
- Drop the image in, type a width or a height, and press Start. With the aspect ratio locked the second value follows on its own, and the file comes back in the same format it arrived in.
- Does resizing lose quality?
- Making a picture smaller costs almost nothing: it is re-encoded once at high quality and the difference is hard to see at normal sizes. Enlarging is another matter, so the tool never scales an image past its original size, because the missing detail is not in the file.
- Which formats can I resize?
- JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and HEIC go in, and JPG, PNG or WebP come out. PNG and WebP keep a transparent background; JPG cannot store one, so transparency is placed on white.
- What are the presets?
- Six sizes that come up over and over: a square Instagram post, an Instagram story, a LinkedIn post, an X post, a YouTube thumbnail and Full HD. Picking one fills in the width and the height for you.
