Convert an image
Pick JPG, PNG or WebP and the images come back in that format. HEIC, GIF and AVIF are read as well, so a photo straight off a phone converts in the same step. Up to 10 files at a time, 20 MB each.
Common questions
- Which formats can I convert?
- JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and HEIC are read; JPG, PNG and WebP are written. HEIC is read-only here, so a photo can leave the iPhone format but nothing is converted into it.
- What happens to transparency?
- PNG and WebP keep a transparent background as it was. JPG cannot store one, so anything see-through is placed on white rather than coming out black.
- Should I pick JPG, PNG or WebP?
- JPG for photos that go on a website or into an email, PNG when you need a transparent background or crisp text and lines, WebP when you want the smallest file and current browsers are enough.
- Can I convert several images at once?
- Yes, up to 10 files of 20 MB each in one run. A single file comes back as an image, several come back as one zip, and nothing is stored after the download.
